Here is our Akatsuki keychain that’s made of metal and nicely detailed. Our keychain comes in two variants: one features the infamous red cloud symbol and the other is the Akatsuki hat often worn during travel.
Akatsuki literally means “dawn” or “daybreak”. The Akatsuki are a group of shinobi that exist outside of the traditional system of hidden villages. In the past, their organization was led by different leaders and for different purposes; however, their goals are usually similar to each other regardless of who is leading: to bring about peace either through criminal act or subversion.
The concept of Akatsuki was thought to be created by Madara Uchiha, although it was really Black Zetsu who devised it in order to revive its mother. Akatsuki was originally founded during the Third Shinobi World War by Yahiko and friends, Nagato and Konan, who were all residents of Amegakure (also referred to as the Hidden Rain Village). Unfortunately, Amegakure wasn’t as lucky as other villages, often finding itself at war due to its location frequently being situated between rivalling nations.
In time, the original founders of Akatsuki were approached by Tobi, who at the time was claiming to be Madara Uchiha. Tobi was interested in Nagato for his Rinnegan, claiming it meant that he was the reincarnation of the Sage of Six Paths.
It is Akatsuki’s ideals to bring about a world of peace without war that attracts many shinobi to their cause. Initially, much of Akatsuki’s fame was owed to Yahiko’s leadership, as his determination and likeability kept the group together when the goings got tough.
At one notable period, Ame’s leader at that time, Hanzo, saw Akatsuki as a threat. And in an attempt to get rid of them, Hanzo offered to help them broker peace between Sunagakure, Iwagakure, and Konohagakure. Although when the original members of Akatsuki arrived to meet him, they were ambushed. This would lead to Yahiko’s death, which was by suicide in order to save Konan. Enraged at the loss of their leader, Nagato summoned the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path to kill their attackers. From this point, Akatsuki would now be led by Nagato.
Member’s of Akatsuki under Nagato’s leadership wear cloaks, bamboo hats, and rings. The cloaks are easily noticeable as they cover most of the body. They are long and black with chin-high collars and red clouds printed over them. The red clouds are supposed to represent the blood that has fallen in Amegakure during all of its times of war, and to be viewed as a symbol of justice.
During travel, Akatsuki members are known to wear conical straw hats with a tassel attached, which helps to conceal their faces. Another consistency among Akatsuki member’s wardrobes are their former shinobi village headbands, which they are known to cross out in order to signify their severed ties from their former villages. Also, Akatsuki members are known to wear nail polish on their fingers and toes.
If you’re a fan of the Akatsuki clan, then why not pick up an Akatsuki keychain. It’s sure to make a great addition to any Naruto or Akatsuki fan’s collection.
