This is our Naruto frog wallet that is made to look just like the frog coin purse that Naruto has in the series.
Just like in the show, our Naruto coin purse has great attention to detail. It is shaped just like a frog, with the same large dilated eyes, vibrant green skin, and little dangling frog legs. If you look at its underside, you’ll even notice the same white strip with Naruto’s name written on it in Japanese hiragana, which reads as “Naruto Saifu”. Upon opening the froggie’s mouth, where you’re to store your money, it is lined with a vibrant, soft red mesh resembling the inside mouth of the frog.
Gama-chan (literal meaning of Toad-chan) is the toad looking frog purse that Naruto uses to store his money throughout his adventure. The pouch is a very iconic piece of Naruto memorabilia, thanks to its cute look and the way Naruto handles it in the series. In fact, Naruto will often refer to the coin purse as his “pet”, claiming that it’s most happy when stuffed full of money. And he of course is known to become disheartened or downright upset when Gama-chan is empty and his money gone.
The frog wallet has been used as part of the story even during major plot points in the series. For example, when Naruto and Tsunade made a wager on whether he could master the Rasengan in a week, Tsudande emptied the contents of the Gama chan wallet as Naruto’s portion of the bet.
Naruto appears to like the frog pouch so much that it has persisted past adolescence, as he continues to use it to store and pay for things even as an adult.
Toads in the Narutoverse are the most popular summons used, since some of the most important characters in the show have alliances with them, including Naruto, Jiraiya, and Minato. Toads are able able to utilize various different abilities, such as using their tongues as weapons or spitting oil or water from their mouths. But don’t let these seemingly simplistic techniques fool you, as the toads in Naruto are some of the most special of creatures. They are one of the few species that are able to form hand signs and perform ninjustsu, and are capable of senjutsu.
Our froggy pals can vary to large degrees in size; with characters like Gamabunta, Gamahiro, and Gamaken being literal behemoths, that are the size of natural land formations. Yet, some of the elder frogs we have seen like Fukasaku and Shima are small enough to fit on one’s shoulder. Other frogs like Gamakichi and Gamatatsu started off in the series to be small but grow bigger over time as they age, with Gamakichi reaching over 16 meters tall by the time of the Fourth Shinobi World War.
The toads even have their own society and culture. At the top of their hierarchy is the Great Toad Sage. He is very old and rather senile, acting as the see-er who can look into the future and give predictions and wisdom to the younger generations and heroes who have made the journey to Mount Myoboku. The frogs can have extremely long lifespans, as it was claimed that Fukasaku is over 800 years old and the Great Toad Sage has been alive since the time of the Sage of Six Paths.
If you’re interested in this wallet, it might also just be your next good luck charm. In Japanese, frog is spelled as “kaeru”, and is a homonym that means “to return”. In their culture, a frog placed in the wallet is seen as good luck, as its thought that it can help to return money back to you after it has been spent.
So, whether you’re looking for your next good luck charm or are just a fan of Naruto or frogs, be sure to pick up this wallet because we know that you’ll love it.
Alexander Mark –
Super cute. Can’t fit much inside, since it is small, but worth it nonetheless.
