Our Uchiha clan keychain is the depiction of the symbol that represents one of the four noble clans of Konohagakure. The Uchihas have a reputation of being the strongest warriors of Konoha village, largely due to their natural abilities in battle as well as their ocular power bloodline trait known as the sharingan.

The Uchiha clan’s history is a dark one: After co-founding the Hidden Leaf Village with the Senju clan many years ago, political affairs and threats of war led to them becoming increasingly isolated from the rest of the villagers. Eventually, this lead to their downfall after the majority of the Uchiha clan members were massacred by one of their own, Uchiha Itachi.

The Uchiha clan can be traced back to the Sage of Six paths, referred to by name as Hagoromo Otsutsuki. However, it was his son, Indra Otsutsuki, that has a direct line to the Uchiha, as Indra was given the “eyes” of his father, which he then passed on to his descendants, who later became known as the Uchiha clan. So it is because of Indra’s eyes that the Uchiha have their infamous ocular powers and powerful chakra.

In order for a member of the Uchiha clan to awaken the full force of their ocular powers, they must first experience the intense emotional contrast of love followed by loss. Where the loss of a loved one awakens intense emotions inside of them that in turn develop into overwhelming hatred, and therefore leading to the awakening their hidden sharingan powers. Further developments of the sharingan, such as the mangekyou sharingan, then require greater emotional distress and sacrifice in order to awaken.

A war exists between the Uchiha clan and the Senju clan that has been going on for centuries. It is a rivalry that dates back to the time of Indra and his younger brother Asura. When their father, the Sage of Six Paths, was dying, he entrusted his succession to Asura instead of Indra, as he believed Indra would make a better successor. Indra valued love as a means to achieve his goals whereas Indra valued power as his means. Naturally, for this reason the Sage of Six Paths believed that Asura was the better choice. Indra, of course, did not like this, and driven by his lust for power and the intense emotions felt by the loss of his father, fought his brother Asura to claim what he believed was rightfully his. It is from this point onwards that the Uchiha clan and the Senju have been continuing this battle of brotherly rivalry through the decades; but at this point, so many years later, and with Indra and Asura gone, their decedents have forgotten the initial reason for their clan’s conflict.

Since the time of Indra and Asura, the Uchiha and Senju clan have become known as the strongest of shinobi clans in the world. And when one opposing clan would hire the Senju to fight in their war, the other would hire the Uchiha, because it would be the only way to stand a chance.
