Our Naruto kunai keychain is meant to look just like the kunai knife used by the shinobi in Naruto. You’ll find that we’re selling two variations of the kunai keychain. The first variation is a smaller kunai made to look identical to the ones used in Naruto accompanied with the Konoha village symbol, while the other variation is a longer and bigger kunai that’s just under 5 inches in length.
In the Naruto universe, the kunai as well as the shuriken are two of the most commonly used tools by shinobi. The conventional kunai appears as a black dagger that is about the length of an individuals’ hand. On one end of the kunai is the sharp, pointed portion of the weapon that’s designed for thrusting and stabbing; on the other end is a handle wrapped in cloth and ring pommel.
The kunai can be used by shinobi to slash and stab at an enemy or thrown from afar to pierce or otherwise inflict damage as a ranged attack. Shinobi will often get very creative with their use of kunai, veering away from the conventional means of stabbing, slashing, and throwing to cause damage; instead, using them as a means for distracting an opponent or drastically increasing their damaging power by attaching explosive tags to them. Another way that a user can increase the kunai’s damage output is by infusing one’s own chakra into the blade before using it to hurt an opponent.
Besides the conventional kunai described so far, there are several variations of this weapon. For instance, Zabuza Momochi was shown to be using a kunai that curved inward on one side, making it a weapon better suited for stabbing.
Another example of kunai variance are the special kunai used by Minato Namikaze. Also found on our store for sale, the Flying Thunder God kunai, also referred to as the Flying Raijin, features a three-bladed kunai used for Minato’s infamous space-time jutsu technique. These special kunai had a unique seal applied to them, which allowed him to perform the Flying Thunder God Technique.
Yet another example of a different kind of kunai was shown exclusively in the Naruto anime, when a member of the Kuruma clan possessed a kunai weapon that was shaped like a combat knife. Other kunai have been shown to have a square hilt, such as the one used by Deidara.
A rather obvious variation on the traditional kunai can be seen by Izumo Kamizuki and Kotetsu, who use kunai that are the size of real-world swords.
The ring pommel at the end of the kunai offer for a lot of variation in how the weapon can be used. One could attach a string to the circle at the end to have a more guided kunai or one that is able to be retracted. Another use of the ring pommel took place in the Chuunin exams by the character known as Kotestu Hagane, who attached a tassel to its end.
If you’re a Naruto weapon fanatic or just want an iconic sign to show that you’re a Naruto fan, picking up a kunai keychain will make for a great choice.
